New Operation:Endgame Review
A couple of days ago, i found this new review about Operation: Endgame! It was posted on www.blogomatic3000.com. The writer of the article mentions Emilie and the other girls of the movie (Maggie Q and Odette Yustman) so i decided to post it here! You can check it out bellow:
OPERATION: ENDGAME
Stars: Adam Scott, Beth Grant, Brandon T. Jackson, Ellen Barkin, Emilie de Ravin, Jeffery Tambor, Joe Anderson, Maggie Q, Odette Yustman, Rob Corddry, Ving Rhames, Zack Galifianakis | Written by Sam Levinson, from a screenplay by Brian Watanabe | Directed by Fouad Mikati
Hidden miles beneath Los Angeles lies the Factory, the headquarters of an elite team of assassins on the government payroll headed by a man only known as the Devil (Tambor). Split into two teams – Alpha and Omega – each team is evenly matched with each member having his or her counterpart. Taking their names from the tarot cards, the Fool (Anderson) becomes the latest recruit to the Factory.
However on his first day at ‘work’, the Fool finds himself thrown into the middle of “Endgame” – a special lockdown and self destruct procedure – when the Devil is assassinated by an unknown assailant. With only an hour before the Factory blows up, the Fool must find a way to escape both the impending explosion and his fellow assassins, all of whom have their orders – terminate each other on sight!
Operation: Endgame is yet another one of those “out-of-left-field” movie that appears out of nowhere as if by magic and totally takes you by surprise – in a good way! Filled with familiar faces, including an ageing Ellen Barkin, funny men Jeffrey Tambor, Zack Galifianakis and Rob Corddry, bad-ass Ving Rhames and the gorgeous Maggie Q (pre-Nikita), the film is an almost perfect mix of action and comedy in the style of the 80’s greats – and it doesn’t skimp on the gore either! Yes, whilst the film has a really funny script – especially when it comes to Rob Corddry’s perpetually drunk assassin Chariot who spews forth insults in an almost Shakesperian manner – it is also FULL of gory fight sequences: throat gouging via staple remover, people sliced up with a guillotine blade, a table leg to the head; just your typical, everyday office equipment used for nefarious purposes (just be careful it doesn’t give you ideas).
Of the cast Rob Corddry is the standout, even more so than the Operation: Endgame’s “hero” – the Fool – as is Ellen Barkin, who brings a sultry dominatrix edge to her performance as leader of the Alpha team of assassins, and of course there’s plenty of eye candy: Emilie de Ravin, Maggie Q and Odette Yustman, of which Q is the highlight, once again managing to balance sexiness with complete badass-ery (for want of a better word) as she does on the CW’s Nikita.
Operation: Endgame is a great movie, if you’re an action movie fan you’ll find a lot to love about the film and whilst it’s not perfect it is miles better than the majority of the DTV action movie dross that clutters up the shelves of DVD retailers across the country. A definite must-see in my opinion.
This review was writen because the movie is now available on DVD and Blu-ray in the UK!

"Waiting for Emilie to return" Part 12
Emilie might be still missing but we all keep waiting for her return! Today i decided to make a tribute to the character Emilie played in Operation: Endgame! I am talking about Hierophant of course. I believe that the movie isn't that good, but Emilie was amazing. She plays an secret agent, who might looks friendly and cute but is a psycho, willing to kill!!! I think Emilie did a great job and i believe she should play more crazy roles in the future! Here is the description of her character from the official site of the movie:
"Emilie de Ravin-Hierophant":
The unstable product of an intensely southern, religious upbringing, Hierophant is cute, giggly, and completely volatile. A master in hand-to-hand combat, she displays no sense of compassion or humanity towards those around her. Basically, she's the high school cheerleader who kneecaps the competition.
You can see a video bellow, with parts of the movie including Hierophant:
The critics might not liked the movie but the majority of them thought that Emilie did a very good job!!! Here are some of their comments:
I have to say that Emilie de Ravin puts in probably her best performance as Heirophant, the southern belle who just happens to be totally crazy.
Far more talent is on display in front of the camera than behind it during the frequently gender-mixed throw downs that comprise the bulk of the picture. Emilie de Ravin (Lost) is brimming with psychosis as Heirophant, more than holding her own against Ving Rhames' Judgement.
“Two assassins walk into a room…” The majority of “Operation: Endgame” follows that simple, repetitive structure and you’d be amazed at how numbing repetitive killing can be. Sure, there’s something fun about watching talented comedians like Adam Scott and Rob Corddry going at it with scissors or a mismatched pair like Emilie de Ravin and Ving Rhames but the film is surprisingly dull.
Bellow you can check some stills from the film out:

Finally here are some clips and the trailers of the movie:

Operation: Endgame available on DVD in Australia and Greece, High Noon shown in Germany last August
Despite the fact that "Operation: Endgame" was released straight to DVD (after been shown in a couple of theaters in LA and New York), and "High Noon" is a movie made for TV, both movies managed to be released in other countries or shown on TV.
On the one hand "Operation: Endgame" was realised on Blu-ray and DVD in Australia on September 15. It also available in Greece, since it was released last month.
"High Noon", on the other hand, was shown in a lot of countries by various channels. It was actually shown in Sweden, Spain, France, Italy and Germany (it was shown there last August, but unfortunately i didn't learn it soon enough in order to inform you). The movie is also released in DVD in Netherlands.
So, if you live in one of these countries and you haven't seen "Operation: Endgame" or "High Noon" you can check them out on DVD or wait for reruns on TV!

My "Operation Endgame" Review
Hello everyone! As i told you in another post about Operation Endgame, i saw the movie i wanted to write a review about it in order to share it with you! You can read it bellow:
THE MOVIE: I think it was a good movie (not a masterpiece) and it could have been released in more theaters. There was a lot of mystery and action in it and i was curious to know what is going on from the beggining to the end... There was a lot of voilence and blood too but i was prepered for that so it wasn't a problem for me... The main drawback of the movie was the plot! The characters were not developed enough and the comedic ones weren't "used" enough as well. They didn't have a lot of lines and the movie was an action film and not a comedy. This doesn't mean it was not enjoyable but i think with such a strong cast they should have done more. Moreover, i thought the movie was kind of sort. If it was longer i believe that some of it's problem would be solved and the actors would have more screen time to show their talent! Furthermore, i don't know what to think about the end. It wasn't that bad but some things weren't explained enough. I would like to watch it again with subtitles in order to understand it better but i am still not sure if i liked the end!
EMILIE'S CHARACTER (HEIROPHANT): I think that Heirophant is my favorite character from the movie.I would discribe her as a creepy-cute creature! To be honest i was kind of afraid of her in some scenes.. Emilie was amazing! I think it was one of her best performances so far!! Whenever Emilie was in a scene i had a huge smile in my face, i was kind of proud of her because she was doing sth completely different from what she has done so far. Heirophant was nothing like crazy Claire. I thought that they were gonna have similarities but there were two completely different crazy people! And that is great because Emilie could have just done what she did in Lost! And i am extra happy to write these things because Emilie is almost unexperienced in the comedy gerne!! I also loved her accent. Whenever i heard her talking it was like watching True Blood!
So, even though it is not a perfect movie and has some flaws, i enjoyed it and i recomment you seeing it! You will have a great time and if you love Emilie, you are gonna love her in this film too!!! Her role is something Em has never done before!!! I am sure you will be amazed by her. She wasn't the lead actress of the movie but her role was much bigger that i first thought! If you have already seen it feel free to share your thoughs in the "comments section"
See you soon!! (I will post some parts from other reviews with great comments about Em's performance in the movie soon so keep an eye on the blog :) )

‘Operation: Endgame’ starring Rod Corddry – red band trailer review (thescorecardreview.com)
‘Operation: Endgame’ starring Rod Corddry – red band trailer review
Operation: Endgame – Red Band Trailer
Directed by: Fouad Mikati
Starring: Joe Anderson, Rob Corddry, Ellen Barkin
Rating: R
Release Date: July 16, 2010
TRAILER SCORE: 7/10
MY THOUGHTS: I’ll admit, as a film critic, I like to get off my high horse every so often and watch a brainless comedy. Hell, more than every so often. This movie looks like it’s got potential to be something worth watching, but it also could easily be a clear cut case of “use everything that’s funny to get people in,” which is a pretty common tactic. Still, it’s an exciting opportunity, that’s for sure. I’m not terribly excited about Corddry, because I’ve never been a big over-the-top kind of humor guy, but it looks like he’s put to good use by the end of this trailer. However, the ultimate surprise are these people being used that I had no idea had any comedic inclinations. It’s been a while since Ellen Barkin’s done something that made me laugh and well, I didn’t even know Odette Yustman could do comedy until this. Still, I have my reservations about this one, but it looks like it has a lot of potential. Plus, I’m always for a reunion of Mission Impossible co-stars, but that’s probably just my nerdiness shining through. With a comedic all-star cast and an impressive array of other stars, Operation: Engame is filled with all the potential for an enjoyable if not brainless action-comedy romp.

More Articles about Operation: Endgame
I found a lot of articles about the movie today. They don't have sth important but i thought it would be a good idea to compile them...
Operation Endgame TRAILER: Star-Studded, Violent Action-Comedy Movie Goes Straight To DVD (VIDEO)
It's pretty rare for a movie with this many stars to go straight to DVD, but after playing in only a handful of theaters, Operation: Endgame will do just that.
Directed by Fouad Mikati and starring Joe Anderson, Rob Corddry, Ellen Barkin, Odette Yustman, Zach Galifianakis, Emilie de Ravin, Maggie Q, Adam Scott, Brandon T. Jackson, Beth Grant, Bob Oedenkirk, Michael Hitchcock, Ving Rhames, and Jeffrey Tambor, the trailer for Operation: Endgame, which is a comedy-action flick, was just released--and it's definitely not safe for your children to watch. (Mostly due to large amounts of profanity.)
The movie is about a war between rival government spy cells after their boss is assassinated. The DVD and BlueRay release date is set for July 27, 2010.
New Trailer for Operation Endgame
Here a movie like looks like it could be rather entertaining. Operation Endgame looks like an action, comedy, parody movie of all espionage style movies that go before it!
The movie stars Rob Corddry we recently saw inHot Tub Time Machine alongside Zack Galifianakis, Emilie de Ravin, Ving Rhames , Ellen Barkin, Odette Yustman, Maggie Q and Jeffrey Tambor. Latino Review gave me the heads up on this one and whey mention that it only had a limited thetrical run and will be going to DVD pretty soon.
No information as yet what will happen in the UK but we can keep you posted.
TrailerWatch: Green and Red Band Trailers for Operation: Endgame
Watch Ving Rhames & Brandon T. Jackson In Trailer For “Operation: Endgame”
Here’s the first trailer (red-band, by the way) for Operation: Endgame, an action/comedy about, in short, two teams of government spies out to destroy each other, and it stars just about everybody, including, as the title of this post says, Ving Rhames and Brandon T. Jackson amongst others faces I’m sure you all would recognize – Zach Galifianakis, Maggie Q, Ellen Barkin, Rob Corddry, and more…
It looks like the flick was originally scheduled for a theatrical release, however, Anchor Bay Entertainment, its distributor, has now instead opted to unceremoniously dump the movie onto DVD, even though it looks like it very well could be fun and entertaining enough to have some life in theaters.
Here are the trailers (if you haven't checked them out already..)

TrailerWatch: Green and Red Band Trailers for Operation: Endgame
In our first true TrailerWatch post in awhile we crawled the web until we found 2 trailers for the same movie, one green and one red. When we watch the trailers we got really excited about the film. Operation: Endgame features the likes of Rob Corrdry, Ving Rhames, Zach Galifianiks, Maggie Q, Adam Scott, Bob Odenkirk and Jeffrey Tambor.
According to other websites who have posted the trailer this project was listed under another title during its production called Rogues Gallery. The film is basically, an action-comedy that sees two teams of government spies pitted against one another. I have to say these trailers have come out of nowhere. What is even the bigger kicker is that this movie is not getting a theatrical release as it will go straight to Blu-ray and DVD.
Are you kidding me? I mean all of these dudes in the film are mega comedy stars now. Zach Galifiankis is huge right now with The Hangover, Rob Corrdry with Hot Tub Time Machine, Adam Scott with Party Down and now Parks and Rec. I mean what studio ass made that decision? Unless this movie didn’t test well but that is all I can guess at this point unless Darko Entertainment went out of business.
Anyway watch the epic trailer(s) below for Operation: Endgame, written by Brian Watanabe and Abe Levy, and directed by Fouad Mikati.
A battle ensues among groups of government spy teams in an underground facility after their boss is assassinated. The film tells the story of The Fool (Joe Anderson), the latest recruit of a secret organization that employs two competing teams of spies and assassins, all taking their codenames from the Tarot deck. Taken under the not-so-sheltering wings of Judgment (Ving Rhames) and the High Priestess (Maggie Q), the Fool has to learn the ropes in an oddball workplace where office politics really is life or death and his ex-girlfriend (Odette Yustman) is his chief competition. Worse, he’s the prime suspect when their top supervisor, The Devil (Jeffrey Tambor) turns up dead. Now, the assorted members from both teams are at each others throats to keep from being the next victims of a lethal “corporate downsizing.”Watch Ving Rhames & Brandon T.

OPERATION ENDGAME red band trailer & poster – Rob Corddry, Zack Galifianakis, Ellen Barkin, Ving Rhames and more play the assassin game with laughs(bigfanboy.com)
Admittedly I know little to nothing about this film, though I’m somewhat shocked considering who all is in it. When you have a cast that includes Rob Corddry, Zack Galifianakis, Ellen Barkin, Adam Scott, Ving Rhames, Maggie Q, Odette Yustman, Joe Anderson, Emilie de Ravin, Brandon T. Jackson, Jeffrey Tambor, and Bob Odenkirk… well, how does that fly under the wire? It’s helmed by first-time director Fouad Mikati, but has Richard Kelly (DONNIE DARKO) as a producer. This thing looks like a Joe Carnahan and Todd Phillips love child. And now I’m hearing this is going direct to Anchor Bay DVD, which is surprising, as the trailer looks pretty good… at least in my opinion. Plus, with Zack Galifianakis having so much heat on him from THE HANGOVER, and Rob Corddry fresh off of HOT TUB TIME MACHINE, how did this not get a respectable theatrical release? Check out the poster above, and the red band trailer below, and share you thoughts with us in the comments.
